Sustainable Development Goals

SDG 1:

End poverty

The first sustainable development goal aims to end poverty in all its forms by 2030. There is a cycle wherein poverty causes lack of education, lack of education causes absence of college degree, lack of college degree causes unemployment, and unemployment causes poverty.

​Drop Up contributes to this goal as it singles out unemployment and focused on solving it first as the company tries to break the cycle. It contributes to SDG number 1 by training the out-of-school Filipinos for a better employment.

SDG 8:

Expand work productivity

Another SDG aims to expand work productivity, decrease the unemployment rate for the youth, and enhance the access to financial services and advantages. The training modules are designed to enhance the employment skills of the Drop Up scholars. The employment skills include communication skills, computer literacy, financial literacy, and soft skills.

THE

SYSTEM

The meetings with the Drop Up scholars for their training is in the span of 3 hours per meeting, 4 times a week. They will undergo the training for 2 months before participating in companies for an on-the-job training. The said schedule of the meeting is due to the practicality that the scholars may currently have a job to sustain their own needs and their family.

Drop Up aims to have future corporate partners where the scholars will undergo on-the-job trainings and possibly apply to work.

Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP

For an out-of-school Filipino to be a Drop Up scholar, one must set his or her goals and mind before starting on processing the application form for the scholarship. If one is decided in allowing his or her future to be molded with Drop Up, then one must fill out the form.

Afterwards, the individual will undergo the interview phase where his or her eagerness and commitment to work with the team will be observed, and the initial skills test which allows the team to learn the applicant's current skill set. The team will be contacting the applicants to inform about the result. Once accepted, applicants will undergo training, on-the-job training, and writing their improved resume. After all of these processes, applicants can now apply for the up job.
